My own Grandfather clock design and build

Submitted to Show Off

I always wanted to design and build my own Grandfather Clock, but designing something of this level and getting the right sizes and measurements to match a mechanical clock movement, pendulum, weight sets requires lots of sketches with measures of sizes and clearances.  The build likewise means lots of accurate cuts, plenty of joinery methods, and tooling that can make it all happen.  Things are going well so far, and since this picture, the clock now has three wood carvings, the door and back completed, the chimes box and chimes added, and glass added.  I know a lot of you like challenging projects, and this one has really put me to the extreme test.  This wood (walnut) is off of the tree that stood by my workshop 5 years ago.
