Hill Climber

Submitted to Show Off

For those who have seen some of my work you know that repurposing things is what I like to do most. I had an old utility trailer that needed some welding work and my brother had a need to gift someone a model "Hill Climber" motorcycle. We made a trade. This model was built from an old mechanical robot that I picked up from the Boeing Surplus store. I scavenged the parts I thought would work and added some others like small .049 control line airplane engines and fuel tanks plus some odds and ends like springs and bezels to cover things up and first class aircraft seat leather for the bike seat also courtesy of the Surplus Store. It took many hours and resulted in my using “taps and dies” for the first time to actually screw things together instead of soldering or gluing. In the end it was well received and appreciated.
