The task at hand: upcycle an item you find at a garage sale, thrift store, or tucked behind something in your workshop, and use your Dremel tools to transform it into something completely different.

How to Participate & Challenge Rules
- Find one item at a garage sale or thrift store for $20 or less, or find something you already have that you can upcycle. Your submission should only include one item.
- Your item must be purchased and/or transformed between October 23 – November 17, 2019. Projects completed prior to this date are not eligible.
- You must use at least one Dremel product in your project.
- Submit your entry via the Challenge form before the submission entry period closes (November 17th).
- Include ‘before’ and ‘after’ photos of your project, as well as any in-progress shots you may have. Please also list the Dremel tools used.
- Only one submission per person is permitted. Members submitting more than one project will be contacted to choose which submission remains in the challenge.
Voting & Winner Selection
Once all the projects are submitted, all members of the Dremel Maker Studio will have the opportunity to review entries and vote for their favorite projects. The due date for submissions is November 17th. The announcement of winners will be November 27th (a nice little pre-Thanksgiving treat! 😉)
Prizes
We have some great prizes up for grabs, which will be awarded based on community voting as well as some Judges' Choice selections:
- 1st Place (Community Voted): $250 Home Depot Gift Card
- 2nd Place (Community Voted): $150 Home Depot Gift Card
- 3rd Place (Community Voted): $100 Home Depot Gift Card
- “Best Use of a Rotary Tool” (Judges' Choice): Dremel Stylo+ rotary tool
- “Best Use of a DIY Tool” (Judges' Choice): Dremel Multi-Max MM35 oscillating tool
Plus, anyone who casts a vote during our crowd voting phase will be entered to win 1 of 3 PK04-04 Hatch Skyline Engraving Kits with Series 200 rotary tool.
Dremel reserves the right to reject or request an amendment to any project submission. Dremel also reserves the right to refuse prize substitution requests.
