Sending Holiday Cheer Challenge
Sending Holiday Cheer Challenge
The winners have been chosen! Thank you for participating and helping to send some holiday cheer!
Read MoreThe holidays are all about spending time with your loved ones, often travelling great distances to get there. However, this holiday season is going to look very different from years past, and many people will be looking for ways to share that holiday cheer without getting on a flight or being in the same room. While Zoom chats and Facetime will definitely have a place in many of our holiday celebrations, we can't overlook the lasting impact of sending and receiving a small handcrafted gift through the mail.
In this challenge we're asking Maker Studio members to create a gift or holiday item with a little twist: it must be something that can be sent in the mail in a flat package! Think an ornament, art piece, picture frame, puzzle or anything that you could send through regular post. Will it remain flat, require assembly, or pop-up when opened? That’s up to you. Share your gift here with us in the Maker Studio (don't worry, we won't ruin the surprise!) and you'll have the chance to win one of 3 Visa gift cards!
Submission Guidelines:
In order to qualify for a prize in the challenge, here's what you have to do:
- Between November 2 and December 6, 2020 submit your creation using the challenge intake form
- Share photos of your project - including a photo of how it lays flat
- Tell us about your process and how you made your gift
Your submission must meet the following requirements:
- Use at least one (1) Dremel tool in the creation of your gift
- Your gift must be less than one (1) inch thick. We know the max thickness for USPS letters is only one quarter (1/4) inch, but we're willing to be a bit lenient... we won't come measure it for you! 😆
Feel free to submit as many gifts as you'd like but please create a separate submission per project!
The Process
Once all the projects are submitted, all members of the Dremel Maker Studio will have the opportunity to review the submissions and vote for their favorite projects. The due date for submissions is December 6th at midnight CST. We'll review all of the submissions to make sure they meet the requirements and then voting will run from December 8th to the 20th. The announcement of winners will take place on December 21st.
The Prizes
What's in it for you? There are three grand prizes available in this Challenge:
- 1st Place: $250 Visa gift card
- 2nd Place: $150 Visa gift card
- 3rd Place: $100 Visa gift card
Plus, everyone who casts a vote during the voting phase will be entered in a draw for one of two Dremel prize packs including one (1) 2050-15 Stylo+ rotary tool, and one (1) MM35-01 Multi-Max oscillating tool.
Note: Due to shipment delays related to COVID-19 and the holiday season, processing, and shipments of prizes to Challenge winners may be delayed. We thank you for your patience and understanding during this time.
