We are pleased to be continue our series on Maker Studio member profiles, and this week we had the chance to catch up with Zaneseligman (Zane Seligman) to get to know him a little better! Read on to learn more about Zaneseligman and the projects he tackles with Dremel tools.
Why did you join Maker Studio?
I found the Studio while approaching Dremel with a technical question. I enjoy seeing other people’s imagination, so I stuck around.
What's your favorite part of the Maker Studio community?
Seeing individual creativity.
How would you describe yourself/occupation to a complete stranger?
I’m a dreamer who rejects impossibility.
What types of projects are your favorite ones to complete? Crafts? Home upgrades? Something else?
My favorite is attempting to create art.
What is your favorite Dremel product? How has it helped with your projects?
My Rotary 8220 is a blessing- and probably my favorite, but my Ultra Saw is used on almost everything I build.
What's the best project you have completed and how did you accomplish it?
Wheelchair access ramp. I consider it my best because I hope it truly helps someone. Being my first ‘big’ solo project- I accomplished it SLOWLY! The UltraSaw was instrumental in the build.
What's the most difficult project you have tackled?
Again- the wheelchair ramp. (Because I had to use Math).
If you could create any type of project (with no limitations), what would you do? Why?
Probably some huge carving. Maybe a life size Dino. How cool would THAT be?!
What is the coolest thing you’ve learned or made using a Dremel product?
Personally, I think my gator carving is pretty cool.
What’s the next Dremel product on your wishlist?
Probably the Dremel Workstation.
Tell us something about yourself that most people don't know about you.
Most people don’t know that half way through the orchestral performance, I put down the French horn, and compete in the dance competition.
What's the best advice that anyone has ever given you?
PUSH the saw-don’t PULL it!
What’s your favorite TV show or movie right now?
I could not tell you one show on TV right now - I do watch Tucker Carlson on YouTube though.
What's your all time favorite food?
Give me a burger and fries over anything - anytime!
Thank you for your time, Zaneseligman. We're happy to have you as part of our community!
Stay tuned for more Maker Studio member profiles to come!
