In grade 4, my parents were in the middle of a divorce. Times were turbulent for us and future uncertain. It was a trying time in my life..

My shoes were kind of falling apart, as kids grow thru them so quickly& it’s very expensive.

A young lady in my class secretly had a gift certificate made, from the local sporting goods store.

We weren’t the closest of friends, I still don’t know exactly why she did this amazing act of kindness,, but let me tell you this:

Her actions changed my life.

I was able to purchase top on the line sneakers,, in a oil-rig town full of money,, most kids at our school had all they ever needed.

Now, because of her / Trisha,, I could play the sports with pride and not be so ashamed. (I was into all sorts of sports and acting and singing,, school plays etc.) In other words , I took part in many different school activities,, and now I had beautiful new shoes to wear.

Please don’t get me wrong, our Mom ALWAYS got us what we needed. It was just very hard to have all of the top-notch expensive things.

But Trisha did this for me and I will FOREVER be grateful. I think of her on an almost daily basis, and I wish I could find her and tell her this in person. I’ve tried to find her online,, but no response as of yet. ALSO, Her kindness caused ripples in my life and I’ve done many random acts of kindness,, due to this experience.

I will never forget You,, and I’m sorry I did better convey these things back then. I was embarrassed at the time,, and very young,, so please accept my apologies. You have a beautiful soul, I truly wish the very best for you & yours.
